There are two airports in Balıkesir as Balıkesir Central Airport and Balıkesir Edremit Koca Seyit Airport. Edremit Koca Seyit Airport is 90km away from the city center. The Central Airport is only 5km away from the city center. However, most of the flights at the Central Airport are made during the May-October period.

Bus

In order to get to the Koca Seyit Airport from the city center, you firstly need to pass through Edremit, Ayvalık and Burhaniye districts. You can get to Koca Seyit Airport from there by taking private public buses. It is easier to reach Balıkesir Central Airport compared to other options. You can reach the airport by private public buses leaving from the city center.

Taxi

Taking a taxi is one of the most convenient options to reach the Central Airport from the city center. The distance between the airport and the city center is short and you can reach there by pay an affordable taxi fare.

Minibus

Another transportation option is to board the “Körfez Birlik” minibuses passing through Izmir-Canakkale route. You can easily arrive at Koca Seyit Airport by taking these minibuses.

Al-Aqiq Airport is located about 30 kilometers east of the city center. You can reach the city center by taking a taxi at the exit of Al-Aqiq Airport. Since public transportation is less preferred in the city center, visitors prefer taking a taxi to reach the city center from the airport. Before you get in the taxi, describing the location of the hotel clearly and negotiating with the driver about taxi fare could prevent potential misunderstandings and problems.
