There are different options to reach the airport from the city center in Cairo, visited by many tourists every year. The services that the hotels usually offer or arrange for you and public transport are the first ones that come to mind.

Airport Transfer

Transfer vehicles that are privately rented from Cairo International Airport and shuttles of the Cairo Airport Shuttle Bus company will pick you up at your requested destination upon your telephone and internet reservation. You can reach the airport from any point of the city by using the shuttles, whose fares are changing according to the region you take it.  

Airport transfers also include London-style taxis, limousines and luxurious midibuses. All you have to do is to make reservations and be at the place where you want the cars to pick you up.

Public Transport

It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

Airport Information

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

Japanese, Chinese and Korean restaurants representing the Asian lifestyle, world famous fast-food restaurants, coffee shops where you can drink the most famous coffees of the world and pizzerias are waiting for guests at Terminal 1. You can also access health services at the airport, which has a large duty free store.

Aramac Airport is located about 30 kilometers east of the city center. From the airport that has been the host of many domestic and international visitors it is possible to get to the city center by taxi or by renting a car. There are car park areas, offices of car rental companies, restaurants and a store at the airport.

Car Rental

You can reach the city center from the airport without losing time by renting a car. You can step by at the offices of one of the car rental companies after landing at the airport to rent a car , or you can book in advance of your flight.

Hotel Shuttles

Since there are not so many options for transportation at the center of Aramac, the shuttles provided by the hotels are easing the job of the passengers. Many hotel shuttles would pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. In order to be able to use this service, it is necessary to get in contact with your hotel in advance and book your place. There are so many hotels at the center of Aramac which offer the shuttle service to their guests.

Taxi

You can reach the city center by choosing one of the taxis that you can find at the exit of Aramac Airport. Since means of public transportation are not used very frequently in the city center, visitors usually prefer taxis in order to get to the center from the airport. Thoroughly describing the location of your hotel and agreeing on the price before you get on the taxi can prevent problems to occur at the end of your journey.
