Belko Air

Belko Air provides comfortable transportation between the airport and central locations in the city, like Kızılay, Sıhhiye, Ulus, AŞTİ, Gar and Pursaklar. You can use the 45 passenger buses 442/A and 442/K by getting on at the stops opposite the exits on the domestic arrivals floor and international arrivals floor.

Buses are equipped with internet, feature hostess services and take off every 30 minutes from 5 am till 12am and every hour from 12 am to 5 am. Taking a Belko Air bus to get to the city is an affordable option.  

EGO Buses

The Esenboğa Airport is accessible by bus line 442-3, which passes through AKM, Ankara Arena and Güvenpark. The 491 bus line provides transportation between the airport and Ulus and Sihhiye but it only operates 3 times a day during the week.

Taxi

Taking a taxi within the city is generally affordable since the distances are usually close to each other. But taking a taxi to the airport is a more expensive alternative because it is located 28 km away. You can try to negotiate with the taxi driver for a lower fee.

Travelling by train is quite common in Turkmenabat because it is located on the Central Asia Railways. Train is especially used for the intercity transportation. With the train that you will get on from Turkmenabad, you can travel to many cities of both Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

You can easily find a taxi in the city. However, there is no taximeter device in the taxis. For this reason, you should definitely talk to the driver about where you will be going and agree on the fare. You can bargain. You can use the shared taxis as a means of public transportation in the city. These vehicles have the capacity of 7 people and operate regularly without waiting.

It is possible to travel around the city by renting a car in Turkmenabat. There is frequently heavy traffic in the city. You should be careful against the police, there is often police traffic stop. You shouldn’t forget that you must have an international driver's license. Outside of the city center, the roads are generally rough. 8 km from the city center. You can reach to the city center from Turkmenabat International Airport by renting a car or by taxi. It is also possible to travel by using the shared taxis but it is not recommended for tourists.

There are shared taxi stops which are opposite side of the airport. You can get to the city center in a cheap way by using these shared taxis. These vehicles have the capacity of 5-7 passengers.

You can get on a taxi in order to reach the city center from Turkmenabat International Airport. The commonly preferred means of transportation by many visitors is taxi. The taxis in Turkmenabad are privately and individually operated. They do not generally serve under a taxi stand. There is no taximeter device in the taxis, so it is always advisable to bargain with the driver and agree on the price before your travel. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the city center. If you have trouble in finding or trusting a taxi, you can ask your hotel to call a reliable taxi for you.

Car Rental

There are many car rental companies at the airport. By getting in contact with one of these companies, you can have a comfortable travel to the city center. You can also make a reservation before your arrival. You should follow the highway M37 in order to travel to the city center with a private car. The travel lasts about half an hour if there is not too much traffic.
