About Managua

Managua is the capital of Central American country Nicaragua. It is also the largest city in the country in terms of population and geographical size. Dominated by the tropical climate, there are native species of trees and plants not found in the world in the city. The rainy season is between May and November, and the dry season is between December and April.

Plaza de la Revolucion (Revolution Square), formerly known as Plaza de la Republica (Republic Square), is the historic center of Managua. Buildings including Catedral de Santiago, the Ruben Dario National Theater, Nicaragua's most important and modern theater, the National Palace of Culture, and the Central Park, which is in the Revolution Square and hosts many works of poets and national heroes, has survived the 1972 earthquake. Doctor Roberto İncer Barquero Library, with 67 thousand books, Achulianca Museum, Dennis Martinez National Stadium which is the biggest stadium in Central America with its capacity of 40 thousand people, Masaya Volcano National Park with active volcano and geological views are among the must-sees in the city.

It is possible to taste many cuisines including Italy, Spanish, German, Chinese, and Taiwan in the city. You can spend enjoyable hours in Managua's most famous festival, Santo Domingo de Guzman Festival, with traditional dance, cuisine and music groups playing.
