Peru's population mainly comprises Mestizos, Peruvian Indians, and people of European and Asian origins. The people of Peru predominantly adhere to the Christian faith. The country has two official languages, Spanish and Quechua, while a local language known as Aymara is also commonly spoken among the population. Approximately one-third of the country's population resides in the capital, Lima.
Lima, the largest city in Peru and the country's capital is also known as the "City of Kings" due to its rich cultural and historical heritage. Lima captivates visitors with its extensive beaches and breathtaking natural beauty.
Peru has other major cities such as Cuzco, Trujillo, Arequipa, Callao, Chiclayo, and Iquitos. The country's landscape features rainforests, with the Amazon River and its tributaries coursing through the land. Among Peru's largest and most significant lakes are Lake Titicaca and Lake Junín.

Peruvian cuisine reflects influences from Spanish, Arab, Chinese, and African cultures. Due to its history as a former colony, the country has a diverse culinary culture. Some of Peru's most famous dishes include ceviche, made from fresh raw fish, anticucho, a skewered beef kebab, arroz con pollo, a chicken and rice dish, carapulcra, a dried potato and meat stew, and pachamanca, a type of meat and vegetable dish prepared in an earthenware pot.

The country's industrial sector is primarily concentrated in the capital. With rich underground resources such as gold and copper mines, Peru processes and exports these minerals.
