Transportation to Airport from Fort Worth City Center

Dallas Fort Worth Intl. Airport

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world and the largest hub for American Airlines. There are a number of ways you can get to the airport from the city center, including options like taxis, trains, and rental cars. Some hotels provide airport shuttle services as well.

Taxi

Taxis are a very convenient transportation alternative to get to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport from the city center. Taxi fares are calculated based on the kilometers traveled. Taxi fares will vary depending on your location in the city but on average it costs around 50 USD to get to the airport from the city center.

Rapid Transit

If you want to use public transportation to get to the airport the DART and TRE trains provide transportation from various parts of the city to DFW. Once you reach the airport train station there are free transfer services that provide access to the terminals. These transfer services usually provide transportation to Terminal A. From Terminal A passengers can take the free Terminal Link vehicles to get to other terminals. Rental Car

Another method of transportation to get to the airport is by rental car. You can rent a car from various rental car companies located in the city. Before you get to the airport you have to drop your vehicle off at the Car Rental Facility. From there you need to get on the transfer buses that provide free transportation to the airport.

Airport Information

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is the largest airport in Texas. Currently the airport operates 5 terminals, with plans for a 6th terminal to open in the near the future. The airport overs such an expansive area that it has one of the largest airport train systems in the world. The Skylink trains run every 2 minutes and provide transportation between terminals. With its 5 terminals and over 100 stores DFW resembles a shopping center, featuring a rich variety of restaurants, places to go shopping, and things to do. Certain brands have stores in multiple terminals.

If you want to take advantage of tax-free shopping for items you’ve purchased while on your trip you have to go to the Tax Free counters located in Terminal D. The airport features restaurants offering American cuisine, Mexican cuisine, and Asian cuisine, as well as ice cream shops, seafood restaurants, Starbucks, and fast food chains like Burger King and Pizza Hut

The airport also features services that cater to families, like children’s play areas, walkways, and a movie theater.

Transportation to Atlanta City Center from Airport

Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Intl. Airport

Atlanta is an important junction point of land, air, and rail transportation in the United States. It is also an important commercial and industrial city, where many international companies are headquartered in. Atlanta is also an important crossroads for international air travel. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, also known as Atlanta Airport, is the world’s busiest airport according to passenger traffic and it was ranked the world’s busiest airport according to the number of landings and takeoffs for several years. Located about 13 km from the city center, the airport is easily accessible by a variety of transportation alternatives.

Metro

The city has a very developed metro line that connects directly to the airport. The MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) metro station is located in the main terminal building. The red and gold lines run directly from the airport to the main stops in the city’s commercial center, such as Five Points, Civic Center, and Peachtree. The metro runs every 15 minutes and travels to the city center in about 15-17 minutes. From the Five Points station you can transfer to the green or blue line, which provide access to other important parts of the city.  

Airport Buses

There are shuttles and airport buses that provide transportation to the city center from the airport. There is a shuttle service that provides transportation between the airport and various hotels and another shuttle service that provides transportation between the airport and the city center and commercial center. Buses are located in between the south and north domestic terminals in the Green Zone. Buses to Five Points only take 15 minutes. These buses depart every 30 minutes and reservations are required.

Taxi

Another transportation alternative to get to the city center is by taxi, especially when you consider how short that distance is. Taxis run on a fixed rate to major areas in the city center. Taxis are located in the Yellow Bus aisle, just outside the baggage claim area. For a more luxurious ride to the city center there are over 300 companies that provide limousine transportation to the city center. You must make a reservation for this service beforehand.

Rental Car

As the world’s busiest airport, Atlanta Airport offers a rich variety of rental car companies to choose from. There are 13 rental car companies located at the airport, offering a fleet of hundreds of vehicles. To get to the city center from the airport by car connect to the I-85 N from the Terminal Parkway. This freeway will take you to the city center.
