Transportation to Airport from Nuremberg City Center

Metro

The metro is a very convenient and reliable transportation alternative to get to the airport. Nuremberg Airport is accessible by the U-Bahn metro from the city center. Line U2 provides transportation directly to the airport station. Line U2 runs between the central train station and the airport in a total of 12 minutes.  

Bus

There are buses that provide transportation from the main railway station, from Höfles, and from Thon to the airport. Bus line 33 runs from Höfles to the airport, and bus line 32 runs from Thon to the airport. The N12 night bus also provides transportation from the city center to the airport.

Therefore traffic in Nuremberg can be quite heavy. However, the airport is easily accessible by car using the A3 motorway. The airport contains both indoor and outdoor parking lots that offer short-term and long-term parking options. The airport has the capacity to accommodate 8,000 vehicles.

The airport operates passenger services out of 1 terminal. The airport contains various services to meet passengers’ pre-flight and post-flight needs. Basic services offered at the airport include ATMs, currency exchange services, lounges, a hairdresser, Wi-Fi, a lost and found, and a conference center. It is one of the few airports in the world that has a bakery on-site.

Munich Airport is a major international airport welcoming a significant amount of visitors to the city. Once you land at Munich Airport there are several transportation alternatives available to get to the city center. Passengers can get to the city center from Munich Airport by train, bus, taxi, and rental car.

Train

There is a rail system in place that provides transportation directly from Munich Airport to the city center. Trains depart every 10 minutes and provide transportation to the city. The rain is accessible from terminals 1 and 2. The S1 train line provides transportation from Munich Airport to Neufahrn, Moosach, Laim, Munich Hauptbahnhof, Marienplatz and Ostbahnhof and the S8 train line provides transportation from Munich Airport to Ostbahnhof, Isartor, Marienplatz, Karlsplatz/Stachus, Hauptbahnhof, Laim and Pasing and Herrsching. For both lines the total trip from the airport to the furthest point on the line takes about 50 minutes.

Taxi

One of the most convenient and fastest transportation alternatives to get to the city center from Munich Airport is by taxi. Taxis are easily accessible from both terminals, from both the arrival and departure levels. Taxi fares are calculated based on the kilometers traveled.
