Transportation to Airport from Bangkok City Center

The Suvarnabhumi International Airport opened for international travel in 2006. The city’s first airport, Don Mueang International Airport, is a regional commuter flight hub and low-cost airline hub.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport handles the largest amount of international passengers entering the city, handling over 53 million passengers in 2012. Bangkok is a city with a population of 8 million. Like other South Asian countries, transportation within the city can be chaotic. However, transportation to and from the airport is extremely advanced and comfortable.

Rail

You can take buses 201 and 503 from the Royal Palace, National Museum, and Phara Nakhon, the historic city center, to Phaya Thai Station. From this station you can get to the airport in 17 minutes.

You can also get on the express line at Makkasan Station. Other lines take about 30 minutes to get to the airport.

Airport Services

There are vehicles that depart from Victory Monument, which is one of the busiest transportation hubs in the city, to the airport every 20 minutes. You can get to the airport using luxury minibuses or buses where you need to connect or transfer in between. Minibuses 550 and 551 will take you directly to the airport. The city of Bangkok experiences extremely hot temperatures and these vehicles were designed taking that fact into consideration. These vehicles are all air-conditioned, providing comfortable transportation for tourists.

From the historic city center (Phara Nakhon) take the Nakhon Sawan or Lan Luang bridges and connect to the Sirat Expressway, which has a toll. From here you need to take Motorway 7, which connects directly to the airport. After reaching the airport you can park your vehicle in one of the three parking lots, which have a total car park capacity of 5 thousand vehicles.

Transportation to Vienna City Center from Airport

There are a variety of transportation methods to get to the city from Vienna International Airport, which is located 18 km away. You can get to the city from the airport by taxi, bus, train, and rental car.

Taxi

Taxis are the fastest transportation alternative to get to the city center from Vienna International Airport. Taxis are very convenient and easily accessible at the airport. Taxis are accessible the moment you land, providing quick transportation to the city center. Although taxis are a more expensive method of transportation they are among the most comfortable options.

Train

Taking the train to the city center is the most affordable transportation option and could be the best choice for you. The Vienna S-Bahn train from the airport takes about 25 minutes to get to the city center. The City Airport Train is another train you can take to the city center. This train travels directly to Wien Mitte station. The total trip takes about 16 minutes. The City Airport Train runs every day from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm. The ICE (Intercity-Express) operates between Vienna International Airport and the Main Station. These trains run every 30-minutes.  

Bus

Buses are a more affordable transportation option, especially compared to taxis. Buses operate between the airport and various locations in the city. Buses also provide transportation to other cities nearby. With a bus you can get to the city center, Wien West, and Wien Meidling train stations in 20 to 45 minutes.

Car-sharing

Car-sharing is another way to get to the city from Vienna International Airport. You must pay the required fee before entering the vehicle designated to you and then you can be on your way. You can also drop the car off wherever you want. The companies Car2go and Drivenow at the airport provide this service.

Rental Car

Renting a car is a comfortable and quick way to get to the city center from the airport. There are various rental car companies located at the airport. If you want you can drop off your rental vehicle at the rental car offices located in the city or continue to use the vehicle during your trip and return it to the airport before your departure. Rental car companies that you can choose from include Avis, Budget, Buchbinder, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Megadrvie, Sixt and Thrifty.
