Transportation to Airport from Bangkok City Center

Don Mueang Intl. Airport

Thailand’s capital Bangkok is one of the most important tourist destinations in the Asian continent. The city, which hosted over 25 million tourists last year, has 2 airports. The Suvarnabhumi International Airport opened for international travel in 2006. The city’s first airport, Don Mueang International Airport, is a regional commuter flight hub and low-cost airline hub.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport handles the largest amount of international passengers entering the city, handling over 53 million passengers in 2012. Bangkok is a city with a population of 8 million. Like other South Asian countries, transportation within the city can be chaotic. However, transportation to and from the airport is extremely advanced and comfortable.

Rail

You can take buses 201 and 503 from the Royal Palace, National Museum, and Phara Nakhon, the historic city center, to Phaya Thai Station. From this station you can get to the airport in 17 minutes.

You can also get on the express line at Makkasan Station. Other lines take about 30 minutes to get to the airport.

Airport Services

There are vehicles that depart from Victory Monument, which is one of the busiest transportation hubs in the city, to the airport every 20 minutes. You can get to the airport using luxury minibuses or buses where you need to connect or transfer in between. Minibuses 550 and 551 will take you directly to the airport. The city of Bangkok experiences extremely hot temperatures and these vehicles were designed taking that fact into consideration. These vehicles are all air-conditioned, providing comfortable transportation for tourists.    

Personal Car

From the historic city center (Phara Nakhon) take the Nakhon Sawan or Lan Luang bridges and connect to the Sirat Expressway, which has a toll. From here you need to take Motorway 7, which connects directly to the airport. After reaching the airport you can park your vehicle in one of the three parking lots, which have a total car park capacity of 5 thousand vehicles.

Transportation to Santo Domingo City Center from Airport

Las Americas Intl. Airport

The most commonly preferred way to get to the city center from Las Americas International Airport is using a taxi or benefitting from the airport shuttle service offered by certain hotels. On the other hand, if you wish, you can rent a car. There is not any means of public transportation or shuttle bus carrying passengers to the city center.

Car Rental    

At Las Americas International Airport, there are a few number of car rental companies. If you drive southwards on the highway numbered 3 with the car you have rented, you can arrive to Boca Chica in about 12 minutes. If you drive westwards on the same highway, you can get to Santo Domingo in about 50 minutes.

Taxi

It is possible to get to the city center by getting on a taxi waiting at the exit of the arriving passenger terminal of the airport.

Hotel Shuttle

Many hotels in the city offer airport shuttle service for their guests. You need to pay additional amount in order to benefit from this service and the amount you need to pay is a little higher compared to taxi. In addition, you should make a reservation in advance by contacting your hotel before your arrival to the city.
