Transportation to Airport from Bangkok City Center

Don Mueang Intl. Airport

Thailand’s capital Bangkok is one of the most important tourist destinations in the Asian continent. The city, which hosted over 25 million tourists last year, has 2 airports. The Suvarnabhumi International Airport opened for international travel in 2006. The city’s first airport, Don Mueang International Airport, is a regional commuter flight hub and low-cost airline hub.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport handles the largest amount of international passengers entering the city, handling over 53 million passengers in 2012. Bangkok is a city with a population of 8 million. Like other South Asian countries, transportation within the city can be chaotic. However, transportation to and from the airport is extremely advanced and comfortable.

Rail

You can take buses 201 and 503 from the Royal Palace, National Museum, and Phara Nakhon, the historic city center, to Phaya Thai Station. From this station you can get to the airport in 17 minutes.

You can also get on the express line at Makkasan Station. Other lines take about 30 minutes to get to the airport.

Airport Services

There are vehicles that depart from Victory Monument, which is one of the busiest transportation hubs in the city, to the airport every 20 minutes. You can get to the airport using luxury minibuses or buses where you need to connect or transfer in between. Minibuses 550 and 551 will take you directly to the airport. The city of Bangkok experiences extremely hot temperatures and these vehicles were designed taking that fact into consideration. These vehicles are all air-conditioned, providing comfortable transportation for tourists.

From the historic city center (Phara Nakhon) take the Nakhon Sawan or Lan Luang bridges and connect to the Sirat Expressway, which has a toll. From here you need to take Motorway 7, which connects directly to the airport. After reaching the airport you can park your vehicle in one of the three parking lots, which have a total car park capacity of 5 thousand vehicles.

Transportation to Mahe Island City Center from Airport

Seychelles Intl. Airport

The most preferred transportation option for travelling to the city center from Seychelles International Airport is taxi, but using the airport shuttle service offered by your hotel is also a comfortable and trouble-free option. In addition, you can rent a car at the airport and have a comfortable transportation vehicle during your visit. If you are one of those preferring the means of public transportation, you can get to the city center by getting on the buses departing from the airport. This is the most budget-friendly transportation alternative. If your travel will continue to another island, you can use the service offered with helicopters or fixed wing aircrafts.

Taxi

It is possible to reach the city center comfortably by using the taxis departing from the airport. The average cost of travelling to the city center from Seychelles International Airport by taxi is 75 SCR in day tariff and 100 SCR in night tariff.

Car Rental

At the airport, Avis, Hertz and Sixt companies and some local car rental companies offer service for passengers. With the car you rent, you can reach the city center by driving in the northwest direction along the coast through the Victoria – Providence Highway by following the signs.

Bus

You can reach the city center by using the buses departing from Seychelles International Airport every 20-25 minutes. Ticket price is only 3 SCR. This bus route operates from 5:30 am to 7:30 pm during the day. It lasts about 20 minutes to reach the city center from the airport.

Hotel Shuttle

Many hotels on the island offer airport shuttle service for their guests. While this service is sometimes offered as shared, private vehicle can also be allocated for passengers wanting a special service. You can get in contact with your hotel and learn whether they offer this service or not. You can make a reservation and get information about the pricing policy in advance. If you find this service suitable for you, you can get to your hotel comfortably.

Helicopter / Fixed Wing Aircraft
