Siem Reap, the capital city of Siem Reap Province in Cambodia, is a very lively city. Millions of tourists come to the area every year; and the main reason for this is the closeness to the Angkor temples.

The Angkor Temple, which was built in the 12th century, has managed to survive without many damages. The temple, which is on UNICEF World Heritage List, is one of the few religious buildings in Siem Reap.

The city has a moist and hot season between May and October, also with monsoon rains. Between November and April, it is cooler and it receives less rainfall.

You can find many tastes from local cuisine in Siem Reap, which is famous for its local flavors known as Khmer Cuisine. Siem Reap River passing through the city adds a different atmosphere to the city.

Tonle Sap Lake, which is located near the city, is also famous. Chong Khneas, the floating village which is a World Biosphere Reserve area, is also here. You can also see lots of bird species in the lake. There is a street called Pub Street, the heart of entertainment, in the city which has a lively night life thanks to tourism investments.
