Venice Marco Polo Airport

You can reach the Marco Polo airport in 25-30 minutes directly by ACTV and ATVO buses departing from Rome Square. You can also get the trams departing from Santa Lucia Railway Station. You can go to Venice Marco Polo Airport only by taking the buses afterwards that transfer to the airport. Taking a taxi is another option.

Water taxi, vaporettos is a pleasant way to get to the airport directly by the canals, but it would take you a bit longer this way to get to the airport.

Airport Information

Marco Polo Airport is 7 kilometers from Venice and is one of Italy's busiest airports. The airport consists of a 3-storey building. Entrance floors are reserved for incoming passengers, while 1st floor is reserved for departing passengers and check-in procedures. There is a VIP Lounge and offices on the 2nd floor.

There are banks, cafés and restaurants, car rental offices, hotel reservation banks in the incoming passenger area. On the departing passenger area there are cafés and restaurants as well as stores where you can shop for books, clothes, accessories or souvenirs. If you failed to buy from the famous Murano glass art examples while in the city, you can also buy them at the airport. There is also a Duty Free store. On the top floor of the airport there is a smoking area, a terrace and a VIP Lounge.

Transportation to Barcelona City Center from Airport

El Prat Airport

Capital of the autonomous community of Catalonia in Spain, Barcelona is one of Europe’s most important cities in terms of tourism and commerce. Barcelona is the 7th most populated city in the European Union and is home to Spain’s second busiest airport.

Serving 40 million passengers annually, Barcelona Airport is one of the major factors to the city’s tourism economy. The airport is easily accessible from the city, which has undergone significant transformations since the 1900’s.

Rail

There is a rail system that connects the airport to Barcelona and other locations in the country. The R2 line provides transportation to various central locations in the city like Ciutat Vella, Barceloneta beach, Barrio Gotico and El Raval. To get to the Old City and surrounding areas you have to go to the Barcelona Sants Station, located 40 min from the airport.

From here, once you transfer to the L3 metro line you will reach the Catalunya station in 7 stops. This station intersects with other metro lines that spread across the city. It is also the closest station to Ciutat Vella.
