Shenyang, which is the capital and largest city of Liaoning Province of China, is the most crowded city in the Northeast China in terms of its population. In the center of the city, there is a population of about 7.5 million while the total population reaches to 9 million. In Shenyang, the temperature is around 30 degrees in June, July and August, while the temperature is very low in the winter months. The temperature drops to below zero in December and January.

The name of the city comes from Ying Yang which means that in every good, there is a little evil and vice versa. Shenyang literally means “the Yang side of the Shen River”. It is known that the first settlement in the region dates back to 8000 BC. The remains belonging to the Neolithic period are in a museum located in the district of Huanggu. The city was founded by Quin Kai, a general of the Yan Empire. Mukden Palace used by the Qing Kingdom, Dongling, the tomb of Qing emperor, Beiling Park which has an area of 3,300,000m² and Xianon Cathedral are some of the places to visit in the city.
