Gökova is a touristic seaside town in Turkey's Aegean Region, well-known in the country for its natural beauty. Although it has only about 2500 inhabitants, it becomes particularly crowded in the summer because of its proximity to the Gulf of Gökova.

A Mediterranean climate prevails in Gökova. As it lies on the coast, winters are mild and rainy, and summers hot. Because of the fertile and habitable land, it has been home to many states and civilizations. It is known that the first settlement dates back to the years 2600 B.C. Gökova is reached by air via the Dalaman Airport. As it lies in the vicinity of other touristic areas road transport options, such as buses and shuttles, to and from the airport and around the area are plentiful.
