Arapoti, a rural area and town located in the south of Brazil, is an interesting locality with a Polish, Ukranian, and Dutch minority. Its is located in the state of Parana and is 250 km away from the state's capital of Curitiba. In this cosmopolitian area the aforementioned ethnic groups, along with the descendants of Japanese and Spanish immigrants come together to create a multicultural and European atmosphere - evidenced in part by the cooperative farm founded by Dutch farmers, complete with a traditional windmill.

Today the area is famous for it's "Green Line", a cultural tourism route where tourists can visit various historical farms and see the farmers at work. The train station in Arapoti is also used as a cultural center now.  Thanks to the farms that were developed and improved with Dutch farming equipment and machinery, the areas is an important area for soybean, wheat, corn, poultry and beef production for Brazil, providing produce and meat and dairy products to the whole country. 

Arapoti Airport, located 6 km away from the town center, runs regular charted flights. There are also buses running from the airport to various cities in the region.
