Al Bayda city, located to the south-east of Yemen's capital Sanaa, is currently caught up in Yemen's civil war. Yemen, which is called "Happy Arabia" and has a population of 26 million, has natural resources such as oil, fish, rock salt, marble, coal, gold, lead, nickel and copper. With the majority of the Yemen population coming from the Arabs, the indigenous people are called Yemenis. A minority section is made up of work migrants from Southwest Asia and Africa.  The religion of hte people is 99% Muslim, 1% is Jews, Hindus, Bahias and Christians. According to 2011 data, the estimated literacy rate is known as 65%.
